D15B7 and the D16Z6
Hey i just took a d15b7 out of my 94' civic, and i put the d16z6 in... everything hooked up just fine, but i was told that i will need a ECU from the d16zd, and will need to hook up the vtec. But i was wondering if it would even run, with the ECU from the d15b7 or no? Thanks

Re: D15B7 and the D16Z6
Moving this to the proper sub forum in the Honda Civic forum.

Re: D15B7 and the D16Z6
Do it right, and get the D16Z6 ecu (P28 ecu I think)1 and hook up the vtec. You already did have the job and got the motor in there, so why not finish it and do it right.

Re: D15B7 and the D16Z6
I was told the vtec wiring is in the harness on 95-95. Just wire from selinoid to harness plug in engine compartment.

Re: D15B7 and the D16Z6
Only the '92 Civics are slightly pre-wired for vtec. They are wired from the passenger side shock tower mount harness plugs to the ecu. So you'd still have to wire from the vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch to the correct pin on the plugs, or get an '92-'95 Si or EX engine harness.
So you'll need to run a wire from the vtec solenoid to the A4 pin of the ECU. And a wire from the vtec pressure switch to D6 of the ECU. |
