need help! 1999 jeep Cher. When shifting into 4h or 4l the light on the dash does n

does not light up?
I can feel that its going in and when I shift out of 4 wheel and back into 2h
it all seems to be fine
but I dont have any lights on the dash to show me if im in part time or full time.
all other lights on my dash work fine.
Its an automatic 4.0 engine.

Either the bulb is bad or the switch for the light has malfunctioned.

IF you have the selectrac transfer case, then try removing the switch, should be mounted to the t-case. Test the switch out or jumper the wires to make the light go on. 99" I think had the split front axle, also check the switch mounted on the selector(front axle). That is just 2 wires, jumper that, you should get a light. If not then your bulb is burnt out.

yeah, i'd pull the guage cluster and check the bulbs. they are know to go out. think light bulbs...
