2000 Cirrus Coolant Leak
Greetings,
My wife's Cirrus developed a problem today. Coolant started spilling from the bottom side of the front bank of 3 cylinders of her 2.5 ltr engine. Somewhere in the area of the oil filter up behind the exhaust manifold is as best as I could see while trying to keep the scolding hot fluid from burning my face. I have one of the Haynes Manuals for her car, but in the Coolant section there is nothing showing in that area of the motor that is related to the coolant system. Once the motor cooled off I poured some 50/50 antifreeze mix into the topside coolant fill next to the thermostat and watched for any leaks..... Nothing. So I started the car, and the coolant started leaking out immediately. Even before the motor heated up. The leak is very large, as though a hose has split or came off. But I can not see any hoses in the area that it is pouring out of. I unforunately do not have access to a lift, just the standard emergency jack for changing a flat. So I did not take a long look due to safety concerns. Also, due to the "Great Engineering of Chrysler" The Exhaust Manifold blocks the veiw from above. If anyone has a clue as to what I could look for that could cause this, I would be thankful for the help. Regards, Lost |
