Help for wheel cover (brand name)

Hi to all, if this is the wrong section, please excuse me.

Anyone knows the brand name (american, I guess) owner of this logo?

Many thanks: Robi

Re: Help for wheel cover (brand name)

Any info on the wheel, where did you get (steal ) it?

And what year could that be from, I expect it being from the 30's, looking at the style and detail on the spokes, no? Some very luxury 40's car... or some cheesy 70's crap car.

BTW, here's a website about old car logos and history, good luck finding yours... www.cartype.com

Re: Help for wheel cover (brand name)

That's definitely not Cadillac nor Imperial; it could be some cheesy JC Whitney generic knockoff, but I'm not sure. That doesn't look like any recognizable wheel cover crest that I've ever seen. It looks like it's from the '60's, perhaps late '50's.

Re: Help for wheel cover (brand name)

I will go out on a limb and say this is from a mid 1960's Mercury.. based on the small roman god in lower left part of center crest..

Gentlemen, many, many thanks for the prompt replies and infos !!!

The hubcap has been found on a freeway direction Lake Powell, in 1995, during my holidays in the States.

Thanks again and bye: Robi
