is this a true d15b?

my dealer recently sold me a d15b vtec engine, at first i was bothered why its valve cover doesnt have a vtec in it,what i can see on the valve cover is a big honda name, but my dealer told me its from an ek3 and i know that ek3 d15b's dnt have vtec in its valve cover placed but its a 3 stage vtec..but after awhile i was bothered bcoz i only found 1 solenoid for vtec activation so it means it is not a 3 stage vtec..and i checked its headcode its a p2j-2 same headcode from d16y8 not the usual p08 head used by the single solenoid vtec..my question is...is this really a true d15b vtec from ek3 or is this engine already being hybrid..and i would like to ask if there is an ek3 engine model that has no 3 stage vtec but rather having only 1 solenoid..thus having only single vtec..pls anybody give me advise is the engine i bought a true jdm d15b?
