You should get a laugh outa this

Friend of mine just picked up her first car. She was one of those people who never believed in private transportation or such, till she nearly got mugged at a bus stop. So now she believes in it, lol. If it maters to the story, shes 22 and just now got her DL.

Anyways, she gets her new (heavily used) car, and is quite proud of it, and rightfully so. Anyways, shes asking me if she needs to do any upkeep or work on it right now do to the miles (ninety something Civic hatch, I think around 120k on the clock), and I tell her to pick up some new muffler bearings and headlight washer fluid.

She now is afraid to drive the car, and hasn't done so for a week, because she can't find muffler bearings anywhere and doesn't want to risk breaking the car.

That's just mean...flat out. You should have told her to buy some elbow grease before she started working on the car...

That is mean. Funny, but mean.

Don't forget the two speed dimmer switch and blinker fluid. If that shit get low you're screwed.

I think I might tell her I'll take care of the muffler bearings and headlight fluid if she promises to polish the drive shaft.

Gi-ga-ty!

Are you going to repair the widjit arm on the maniform as well? You do realize you are going to be the one she calls when she has a flat or can't find the 710 cap, or left the lights on...etc. You'll get your payback.

Re: You should get a laugh outa this

a lot of people don't believe in private transportation until something like that happens. granted nothing is stopping a mugger in the local mall now is there?

just tell her always have the key pointing away from her, they make useful knives.

Re: You should get a laugh outa this

I told her I was joking last night when she called to ask if I was going to fix it for her. She doesn't believe me. I'm tempted to tell her to sign up for an RX7 club and to ask about cams and hig compression pistons. I might just go over to her place after work and pretend to do something to the car just to make her feel better.

You should bring some cleaner for her exhaust tip and tell her your are going to port and polish the end for better gas mileage...
