Broken/missing parts...

Have you guys ever used Revell-Monogram's "Broken/missing" parts page?

I'm thinking of using it to snag a set of rims and tires, but feel like it's a little dishonest...

It'd still cost me $5 for shipping though, so not entirely worth it...

This is what I'm talking about

It is dishonest, actually, I would call it brazen theft.

I have used the service to replace a broken part, but I don't think I could blatanly abuse it to get a free part.

Just remember that everyone that uses the service to get free parts is costing R-M money, when all of you have your free parts but R-M has gone into bankruptcy, please don't post on here crying about the closure of R-M

Please understand, I am expressing my opinion on the matter, it is nothing personal, this has always been my position on it.

Ray

Asking them for a complete set of wheels and tyres is going to be suspect anyway, its very unlikely all will be missing or broken.

I used it for a new Integra Type R window. They are slow as hell, took about a month +. But I did get it.

I got my stuff when i ordered from them. I broke the hood of my old Z28 and they sent me a new one, and it was pretty quick actually.

hmm.. I don't think it is bad/wrong to do that. Spoke to someone that worked at Monogram before, and he told me that they have tons of parts sitting there meant for replacement. I use to get additional payload for my planes quite often from them. Since you're paying for shipping, you're just helping them free up some shelf space. My 20 yens.

flyingmachine,
If you ever get robbed on the street of your money, just think of it as the thief helping you free up some space in your wallet.
The same when your house gets broken into, the thief is just helping you make some space.
Quite kind of them isn't it......

This has been subject to many discussions before and it is just going to turn bad. the last one went nuts with people who differed in opinions..

unless the part is actually broken or lost than you really shouldn't use the service

any modelling mods who feel my decision is wrong feel freee to PM me
