Red face Tail Light Conversion?

Soooooo I'm thinking of buying a 240sx. I want to change the tail lights to the 360 modena's, but how do I do this? I can get the parts and stuff but how will I make it fit? Ya I'm new, don't hate . And is a 240sx a good car? Cheap on parts/good on gas?

Thanks

Re: Tail Light Conversion?

no. get the f**k out of here with your ugly ass ferrari lights. god dammit 240s are becoming rare and parts are not easy to find anyways. and the 240 is not great on gas for a 4 banger. expect low 20s in mixed city hwy. the best i got ever was mostly hwy driving and i hit 28 mpg on one tank once. please please dont go thru with your plan. if you want some more origional tail lights, get some of these.

or if you have a coupe, get these

but please dont rice out another 240. please. one of these days im gonna go on a rampage and gun down all the stupid riceboys who molest 240s. they dont deserve it. they are better cars than most people realize and its too bad super street brought all the little honda kids over to nissan.

Re: Tail Light Conversion?

I must agree. Please don't rice out your car.

I don't know much about 240s, but parts for my Sentra and my sister's Maxima have been reasonable. They're pretty easy to work on and parts aren't too bad if you're willing to hit up the junkyard from time to time.

Re: Tail Light Conversion?

Wow don't got to be rude, lol. Well I just hate the 240 stock taillights I think they're really ugly. I want to change them to something nicer. I thought the 360 tail lights were nice, but ok. Any other pictures of nicer tail lights than the ones you posted? Still with any tail lights I choose to replace them with, my question is HOW. If the lights are a totally different shape, how will I accomplish this?

Re: Tail Light Conversion?

If they are a different shape, you'll have to modify the trunk/quarters to make them fit. This will likely require cutting tools and some fiberglassing/bondo skills. If you don't know what you're doing, I suggest sticking with the stock shape.

Re: Tail Light Conversion?

? i guess its your opinion but the 240sx really does look good with stock lights. it is part of the car, and part of the styling of the peroid. anything else just looks wrong. ive seen many tail light styles on many cars, and like the fact that lambo doors should never be on anything that isnt a lambo, keep the tail lights as designed. all the other car lights look like ass. even if they look good on a ferrari, a 240 looks much different than a ferrari and it will ruin the small sports car styling that the 240 does so well.

just like ugliness of silvia headlights on integras, integra headlights on civics, s2000 tail lights on civics, its all like wearing brown socks and black shoes. or more like wearing vans and a beanie at the same time as your wearing a $5000 designer tuxedo.

what kind of 240 do you have? there are some slightly altered lights that look ok if your really set on changing it. if you have a hatchback the ones on the black car are cool looking, the brake lights are double circles with the turn signal between them, and came stock on higher end models in japan. but you should never have to use bondo to make your car look better, unless you crashed your car. what year and body style do you have and ill find some cool options for exterior styling.

Re: Tail Light Conversion?

oh and about the sentra/maxima parts vs 240 parts, sentras and maximas are common. 240s are not. its much harder to find parts unless your willing to pay more/wait for shipping across some distances. common parts like tie rods ball joints and tune up parts are not too hard to find but if you want to replace something major its a bit more of a headache.
