2003 chevy silverado wont start!

I just purchased a 2003 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 with quadsteer, the pickup would not start the next morning. So I let it sit and later it started right up. The radiator went out the next morning so I had it replaced. It has done fine since then. I got up this morning and it will not start. All lights come on, but there is not a single sound indicating that the motor wants to turn over and the motor light comes on the dash board. It also says I should service the 4wd. Can you guys help me out? This has all started within the first week I purchased it. Of course there is no warrenty on a used one.

Thats a lemon law truck right there, I'd go back and give them a piece of my mind.
Did you try starting it in neutral?

Re: 2003 chevy silverado wont start!

I have cleaned the battery, checked the cables and they were all tight. This pickup is used so is there a law in Oklahoma that covers this kind of stuff? I havent had this thing one week and I have had to have my wife take me to work every day except one. I like the truck I just want the darn thing to run. Someone even told me it might be the anti theft system and my key. We have tried both keys and that seems to have no effect.

if you are sure the battery and connections are good [load test battery] when it refuses to start give starter a hit with a hammer not too hard while an asistant has key in crank position if it cranks or attempts to crank r/r starter motor.....

I have seen several bad starter solenoids on these newer ones. Check for 12v to the B+ wire on the starter solenoid. If you have it there, check for power on the other large wire that goes directly to the starter motor. If you don't have it there, the solenoid may be bad. If you do have it there, the motor is bad. Now, check for power to the "S" terminal on the solenoid (small wire), it should have power when the key is in the crank position.

2003 WAS a bad year for solenoids as i to have seen many failures. and I think there was a recall.....its the small sol. wire rotate slightly and it will work for awhile.........
