GTP v. C4(i&e) then... GTP v. C6

Cruising around looking for trouble but not really expecting much, out of the blue a black C6/C5(couldn't tell right away) passed me, I thought for a second and then flipped around and chased him. I pull along side of him and he quickly shoots forward and puts on his signal to turn into a residential area, so I followed expecting the usual vette owner's attitude.

At his house a block ahead he gets out of the car and is laughing, so I ask him, "want to race just for fun?"
He replies, "you don't stand a chance in this, how about my other vette." I look over where he is pointing and its a C4, so I say "ok but I dont think it will be close". He says he has mods on it so I figured what the hell, not like I had anyone else to run.

GTP v C4:
We get out on the freeway and he floors it right away, so I do the same and quickly overtake his jump and run by him. So we turn around heading back towards his house, he is yelling out the window, I figure he is upset or something, but instead he says, "Do you want to run the other one?" I said "hell yeah!"

GTP v C6 Z51 Manual:
I new he would hit it right away this time so I was more prepared and when he did floor it, I pulled immedeatly from 20mph to about 80-85mph. Which was when he appeared to slow down a little. At that moment I then ran out of fuel, LOL, so while I filled up he was telling me he missed 3rd at 85mph and wanted to race again.
This time on the way back we went from about 60mph and were dead even. When we shut down at 125-130mph, I was quarter-half a car ahead. What a race, I thanked the guy out the window and in doing so I missed his turn to go back to his house. When I looked back I saw a cop pulling him over.

Sucks, I hope the cop was leniant. On the other hand it is nice to know I can pull a C6 up top with 91pump/catback+seats in/2.8pulley(13psi) . I knew it would be close but I did not expect to pull on him from 100-130mph.

What a freaking rush, I wish I had a mounted camera, I wish I had a mounted camera, I wish I had a mounted camera...

Great story but it totally blows that he was pulled over in the end.

why didn't you think you could take him? You have an 11 sec. car. You should have no fear of those C6's what-so-ever.

I trap 114mph with 2lbs more boost, slicks, 94octane, 100lbs less weight, and 3* more timing advance. With all those factors combined I figured I only would trap 111-112 and run 12.3-12.6 in my "street setup".

Dont the C6s (manual/hardtop) run about:
0-60: 4.1-4.3s
1/4: 12.5-12.7@110-113mph

With higher octane, more boost, less weight, better tires I know I would smoke him.

I have ran a few at the track and I had 12.1-12.3s@114-115 to their 12.7-13.1@110-112.

Next up is the C5 Z06, some day...

Ever since I joined this forum, I have been afraid of GTP's because of you Jeff lol. Do you have a list of your mods anywhere? I'm very curious to know what the hell you did to that thing! Oh yeah and obviously great kills, funny that you ran out of gas lol!
