Brakes acting strange 97 Lumina

When I come to a stop sometimes, the car brakes normally until I am almost stopped. Then it feels like the rear brakes stop working. It does not do this all the time but it does seem to be happening more frequently. Could this be part of the Anti-lock system acting up? It also seems it occurs during temperature changes, but not 100% sure of this.

Disc or drum rear?
Are you sure it's the rear?

When this happens, does low traction indicator come on?

Time to delve into the book. Not sure when I'll get back as I have other things going also this weekend.

Look underneath, make sure you don't have a wheel cylinder dumping fluid...

You should have gone low in the master cyl by now if that's the case...

the rear brakes provide a small amount of braking . if you feel brake pedal pulsing then its probably the abs sensor needs cleaning .. but it could mean you need new rear shoes if it is not abs.........check shoes adj shoes
