Need opinion on engine swap

Hi I have a 1990 honda crx and am wanting to throw in a bigger engine. I was wondering if anyone kew how big I could go and how much extra work it would be. I want to through in a 2000 honda v6 3.0L engine but am extremely worried that it wouldn't fit at all. So if you have any suggestions please let me know. thanks

Re: Need opinion on engine swap

The biggest realistic swap is a 4cyl B, F or H series motor.
All of which need fairly involved work just to make them fit, followed by lots of brake and suspension work to have a car is also drivable.

Engine swaps are quite involved, they are one of those projects that if you have to ask about simple details like what engine to use, then you shouldn't be doing it.

Learn some basics first, what it is that makes a car fast, what it is you want out of a car, the process and systems involved in automotive engineering, then think about doing an engine swap.

Re: Need opinion on engine swap

go to the honda section and look around theres MORE than enough info there to get you going, but before you ask ANY questions, you need to figure out a couple things. Power goals, BUDGET (anything can be done with enough money), and how long the car can be down for, obviously the more involved swaps take longer.

Re: Need opinion on engine swap

h22 prelude motor is pretty much the biggest motor that fits in the engine bay, and it requres some 'modifications' (read: big hammer) to the fenders/firewall. theres a shop near where i live that put an NSX motor in the hatch of a crx but they also could afford to throw away an NSX. im guessing you cant.
