Found 89 supra turbo targa 40000 miles need advise on HG
My question concerns the Head Gasket problem on the supras. I just came across a mint 1989 supra turbo targa with only 40000 miles on it. The owner is a very wealthy older gentleman who only drove cars for about 40,000 miles before replacing them. He always liked the supra so he kept it. The car has been kept in a air conditioned factory since he stopped driving it. The car runs great. I checked the oil and it looks good with no foam or milky appearance. The radiator fluid and reservoir look clean as well with no oil residue. The gentleman states the engine has never over heated. I plan to buy the car and re torque the factory HG to 72lbs per all the post I have read. What are the chances that the factory HG will last for good with just a simple re torque. The car has been driven for 40,000 miles already. Thanks for your reply s
