up in the air...

ok guys.. i've been tossing it around for months. If i can get into upper management where i'm working now, i'll likely buy a newer car this spring. I am currently pricing 3rd and 4th gen f-bodies and 92-98 Corvettes.. i need some opinions here. I'm looking in the 10-15 grand range.. i know ultimately it'll come down to what kindof a deal i can run into.. but what would you guys go for?

Re: up in the air...

Look around and you can find a nice WS6 or SS in that price range.

Re: up in the air...

A newer vette would be a nice ride though... And I have seen em go for within that price range before.

Re: up in the air...

im not too keen on the manuals.. they give my knee fits after like 10 minutes.. old wrestling injuries coming back from the dead..

besides that, are the Vette's any lighter? thinkin a 300hp vette would probably outrun a stock LS1.. but maybe not a WS6.. thoughts?

I'm sure Mr. Lous would have a opposing view of that thought

Oh, wait, stock LS1.

Re: up in the air...

My guess is that its a drivers race between an LT1 vette and LS1 f-Body, assume both stock.

Re: up in the air...

I like the look of an LS1 TA WS6 myself. I actually found one that I am seriously considering getting. My parents want me to wait and sell my car before I do it. But by the time I get it sold, that car won't be there. Its a hell of a deal too.

Re: up in the air...

If you don't have kids, i'd go with the corvette. A 4th gen WS6 wouldn't be a bad choice either. With the choices you listed it basicall comes down to looks. 3rd and 4th gen f-bodies are awesome cars but they don't compete with a corvette as far as sex appeal goes. A WS6 is pretty sexy though too.

HAHA good point Wright, I don't have kids so I never thought of it that way.

My Dad had a vette when I was little, I used to ride in the trunk all the time.
