Its not a mode, its a type. Like in GT3 / Arcade mode, you select a ARCADE car, it asks you to select between Race or Drift.

I'm sure its gonna be like that in GT4 mode.

im pretty sure its not. why would they NOW be makinga big deal over a 'drift mode' if it was a tyre selection thats been available since '97...

Thats not what I'm talking about. Go into arcade mode, then select a Arcade car.

Re: drifting in gt4?

no i dont think it'll b like that, that is more of a driving style when you are still racing were your grip will slide a little, but as the quote from the maker of gt4 says from ign, it sounds like it'll be more than a little tire choice, he makesw it sound like there will be atleast one competition, same with drag racing

Re: drifting in gt4?

goto www.gtplanet.net they have fourms for all GT series...

some people that went to E3 said there is a Drifting mode, and it is judged and setup like the D1GP, I hope its not in Sim mode though and just for arcade

Re: drifting in gt4?

srry this has been a while since i just got off ban, but drifting is confirmed by the friend that went to e3, but he's kinda weird so im not to wure to trust him......
i also have a disc that came with a friends magazine with a film about making the game, and they were drifting quite a bit for it to be just a fun driving technique.
also everyone knows about the grip-drift option in the previous game, but if they were making a big deal about this, and it started up all these conversations i think its going to be real, whether people like it or not.

Re: drifting in gt4?

even if there is a drift mode, if you dont like drifting or anything just dont play it, but i think it would be cool if it were in the simulation mode as a competition, it wouild be easier to drift with computers than my friend cause we never get together to do it.

I hope not, drifting in games is retarted and makes your thumbs hurt. Rally tracks are much more thumb friendly

Re: drifting in gt4?

yeah, i have had many people say that they might screw drifting up like in need for speed underground, that drift mode was hilarious! but i think they are smart enough to make the mode good, they've had alll this time to perfect it anyway.

but the point of getting 100% in gran turismo games is to learn all types of racing, you learn how to drive ff's, and fr's and all kinds of others, so i think they would want you to leanr to really drift and really know how to do it.
