02 Odyssey Hesitation

My 100k van experiences some serious hesitation and stuttering, normally when the gas pedal is slightly depressed and I'm slowly accelerating in the 15-20 mph range.

I've performed a search and haven't found too much here other than an EGR valve...

Any suggestions?

If we are talking EGR, any ideas on repair costs?

had EGR checked out and tried new one, but hesitation is still there.

I wondering if the plugs could be going bad and plan to check them. I would guess that any misfires would trigger an engine code.

We have the same problem on our 00 odyssey with 60K miles- any ideas- we were thinking coil packs as well

coil packs at 60,000 thats wack try hooking up a scanner to the car and checking the numbers then youll find the real prob could be bad gas...... also this thread is dead try not to revive dead threads

Like wiseguy says, you can guess all day & waste a ton of time and cash. You need to start with the OBDII codes. The early 2000 3.5's did have an issue (and a recall I beleive) on the EGR plumbing. Usually it's not the EGR valve itself, but the pipe inside the intake manifold plugs solid with carbon and blocks any EGR flow, setting a code and causing horrible light throttle performance. On other engines, I've had luck dousing the system with intake cleaner with the EGR valve removed and a helper working the go pedal. You can also run a wire 'fish' or pipe cleaner through the piping to clear out the carbon on really stubborn ones.
