68 Dart Hemi

I recently picked up a 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi at a junk yard, while it was missing the tranny and whole rear end, it has a perfect condition 426 Hemi engine with 65,000 miles on the odometer. The body is in perfect condition except for the right rear quarter panel which has a bit of rust, but other than that it seems the car is in perfect condition. I was just wondering if all this was worth the $11,500 price i paid. I was looking for an old muscle car to restore and hoped i picked a winner.

if it is one of the original darts with the fiberglass nose, mirror delete, light weight seats and all that other good stuff. you just stole that car. but if not you deffinetally got it cheap. lucky you.

Re: 68 Dart Hemi

If it is an original Hemi Dart, it is a steal. If it is at least an original running Hemi engine, it still was a good deal.

Re: 68 Dart Hemi

If that car was there for any amount of time in that boneyard, anyone who knows anything about cars would have picked it up a long time ago. Those cars are retardedly rare. Are you sure this is correct?

Re: 68 Dart Hemi

And this guy wants to know if it's worth the money he paid, my god, some guys have all the luck.

I bet you that motor isn't number's matching, and that it's out of something else. But, if that's the correct motor for that car, it is incredibly rare.

Re: 68 Dart Hemi

$11,500 for a Hemi Dart? Dude, that motor is worth that and more! That body is super-light...Just add the 18-sline Hemi 4 speed and a Dana 60 with 4.30 to 4.88s and yer knocking on the 10-second door. I dream about finds like that!!!

Dude, this guy is full of it. There is no way he found a hemi dart in a junk yard. Not to mention, if he's in the "Dodge" forum, I would assume he knows the value of a Hemi. Therefore, he wouldn't be asking us if he got a good deal, he'd already know it.
