98 Lumina Trans/Suspension?
OK, so I have a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina LS, with a 3100 series engine. I've already had a gigantic headache with the electrics, but i think i got that figured out.
However; I feel this shaking/vibration from what I think is the front right wheel in 4th gear. This leads me to think it's the transmission gear slipping. But what throws me off is that this shaking/vibration stops when i change lanes or make turns, leading me to think it's some suspension part. Any Ideas? |

Welcome to AF. Bad tire, hub and bearing another possibility. Check for play in the bearings, look for a bad belt in the tire, check for any worn/loose suspension or steering components, standard diagnostics for this type of condition.

Re: 98 Lumina Trans/Suspension?
Looked at the tires, just fine. Barings are realitivley new. Now other sounds have begun to appear. Now when i go over speed bumps, or slight dips in the road there is a creaking sound coming from the front end of my car. That pretty much narrows it down to suspension.
But which part(s) could it be? Keep in mind that it is still shaking at highway speeds. |

Basic diagnosics, have someone rock the car while you get underneath and locate the source, shaking is another issue. Check for looseness in the bearing/hub/ whell assy, play in any suspension component, again this ia a matter of just going thru everything. May even swap tires ft to back in the process.
