child seat woes... anyone else?
I did a little searching and it looks like this is a topic thats never really been visited.
When my wife told me that our 7 month old daughter is about to outgrow her car seat and needs to move to one designed for bigger babies, I didn't think much of it. The seat she has now sorta rest between the two front seats and isn't to intrusive. Well, she brought home this monstrosity of a thing, that can only be described as an "infant lazy boy", and now we have problems. I am 6'6'' tall, and up till now the GP was the perfect car for me. The drivers seat has to be back, not all the way, to accommodate me. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions of seats to buy? I already had her return the other one, I don't know what kind it was, but unless the laws of physics were broken, that one wasn't happening. |

Re: child seat woes... anyone else?
Sunshine kids radian 80 works for rear-facing and front-facing. We kept our daughter rear facing until 15mos. (&26 lb). Now she sits front facing, and it should work for a good number of years based on their ratings. I think the original seat we had until 12mos was a Graco snap-in type unit.
The seat does set right up nested between the front seats, though if you need a further back position, it would be been tight. We have a 2000 GP, and I'm not sure if the 2004+ would be different (not sure what you have) I'm only 5' 9". Another option would be to use an outboard position (behind passenger seat). Also, since our 2000 does not have the lower latch anchors, we have to use the belt clip on the seat belts to keep them tight. |
