Saturn SL code question

My 2000 SL sohc has been reliable and economic.

It now has a code P1133 which does not appear in the code list from my Haynes Repair Manual (1991 thru 2002).

Can anyone help with the code meaning and what the cause might be?

I am not a mechanic. But, if the solution isn't too complicated, I would give it a try.

Thanks

Randy

P1133 HO2S Insufficient Switching

Your O2 sensor has gotten lazy. Probably needs to be replaced but it's possible something else is wrong.

Re: Saturn SL code question

Thanks for the advice about the code (O2 sensor) and that another part could be at fault.

According to my manual, my car has 2 O2 sensors. Does the code indicate which one may be the problem?

Since my manual does not list all the codes, is there a web site or other source that lists all the codes?

Randy

DTC P1133 HO2S Insufficient Switching Bank 1 Sensor 1

refers to O2 sensor located on your exhaust manifold.

Re: Saturn SL code question

Thanks for the sensor location and the code list.

The manual has a sensor voltage check procedure which I have not done.

However, I did clean the sensor electrical connector (part of the check) and reset the code which has remained off for 2 days.

I doubt the permanent fix will be that easy.

Again thanks for the help.

Re: Saturn SL code question

Chilton's version has a much better code list.
