Trip odometer quit working
I know this the Cavalier part of the forum, but it is basically the same thing as the sunfire so i figured this would get my question out to as many people as possible. sooo...I am having problems with the trip odometer on my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire. It is a digital odometer and when I press the button to switch it to trip odometer mode, it doesn't do anything. Once in awhile it will work and also when it is really cold it will work....but lately it just doesn't switch at all...do you know of a fix for this problem (other than replacing the whole cluster?) Thanks!

Re: Trip odometer quit working
I have the same problem where the trip button does nothing. If I hold it down I sometimes get random characters up on the odometer, and sometimes while driving "trip" will flash on and off. Would replacing the cluster fix this?

Re: Trip odometer quit working
yes a new cluster will fix it, but your mileage is going to be something totally different than what you had before. Mileage is store in the clusters <99 and in the bcm 00-05
