I'm looking at them too Schlud. Only problem is that they appear to be longer than the stock manifold and take up the space where your cats are. It looks as though we would need to have some custom work done to relocate the cats unless SLR has something in the works? Believe me, I won't be waiting too long to get these if it's not too much trouble to get them installed and pass emissions.

Looks like Gibson finally finished them, the whole cat thing only would affect certain 2000 model year trucks so this might be a problem for some...nothing a good exhaust shop couldn't handle though.

thats a great price. i have had both sides replaced in the past year and a half. the passenger side that got replaced yesterday was warped so bad it broke off one of the studs. if your not under warranty it would cost as much if not more than a set of the slr's. mmmm, horsepower...

FSR, the main cats that are alongside the engine and displaced by the headers are the main cats found on all Xterras from 7/99 on. The difference in the 2000 models was that most came with only the main cats, but not the post-cats that are right before the Y-pipe, but CA, MD, and a few other states got the 4-cat setup. For 2001 all Xterras had 50-state emissions with 4 cats. Either way, you've still got to relocate the cats. Losing the post-cats shouldn't be an issue other than perhaps to a visual inspection, the O2 sensors are upstream of it.

Word of warning..
There is a fellow that got them and said that some of the welds were crap (they were not complete and you could see through them) He posted the info on both XOC and the 4x4parts BB. Perhaps it was an isolated event.....

Keep in mind that it was someone on the 4x4parts board that said that!
If there really is a problem I'm sure SLR will replace them. I've got a second cracked manifold now after only being on for 16K miles so I will most certainly be doing this as soon as a have a few more dollars and figure out how to handle the catalytic converter issue on my 2000. Right now I'm looking at purchashing two stainless Xtremeflow cats and having custom pipe work done back to where things meet up with my Gibson exhaust. Total cost will probably be around $1,500 by the time I'm done but oh well.

Well, what's the cost of replacing the stock manifold after your warranty is out? You'll get more power and probably save money in the end.
