Thumbs up 150kmh (95mph) in Italy

Italy has just passed to 150km/h on the highways. At least a smart decision taken by the italian government contrary to the other europeans countries (except Germany where there are no speed limits on this kind of road).

Yes it's great isn't it! I was thinking about posting a thread about this but you beat me to it- however I guess I sort of worry- the drivers here are mad! they now have 150 km/h missiles but if common sense is applied we'll be good

Speed limits are good, at least where i'm from.

Fact is North Americans are generally pretty shitty drivers, and it doesn't help that half the vehicles on the road are SUVs or trucks that handle like poo and would squish you in an instant.

Getting hit by some stupid 16 year old kid maxing out his speedo in a j-body would suck. If there was no speed limits here, I wouldn't feel safe even in a Volvo S80.

You have high lighted the exact reason why the US can't have any high speed limits- simply because there are too many teens and Hondorks who think they are invincible and well speed, crash, survive and kill someone else

Indeed it's a real problem, in Europe, you can have your driving licence at 18 and it's already too young for some people coming back drunk from night clubs, etc. So 16 in the USA....
But on the highways, I think there are not many risks and we could drive fast there that's why I think that Italy made a good law. Even if Italians are sometimes crazy in their car, but they do know drive. As French or Germans for example.

>Jim : sorry to pick you thread
