Delta HF Integrale

I can't believe that no one has posted on this fabulous machine!
A truly awsome car noted for its surefooted, predictable handling, the Delta employed a turbocharged FIAT twincam with 8v head on the earlier models and 16v head on the later models, all that power was transfered to the ground through a sophisticated all wheel drive system using fully mechanical differentials. All in all the HF Integrale racked up an incredible 27 world rally championship wins.

They absoloutey magnificant cars. The body looks mean and it has balls too. But apparently there have many problems in maintaining them and they must be started and warmed up (I wouldn't mind) to keep the engine lubricated so it stays in good condition. If i could get an early model in yellow i'd drop dead It's a pity their expensive and can't get them in Aussie.

If you're interested in the yellow ones, you should know that there were 2 yellow models produced, both limited editions:
1. Giallo Ferrari ('92)(also called Giallo Fly). 400 built. This is an EVO1 with black leather seats, although they are not very supportive when pushing the car
2. Giallo Ginestra ('93-94). 220 built, although many have been written off. This is the model I am looking for. It is an EVO2 with high back alcantaras, the interior is generally much nicer.

you should go for the later model as
1) better build quality (not as fragile)
2) bolder, nicer colour (according to every lancia fanatic i know)
3) nicer interior/more supportive seats
4) rarer, better resale value
not that i'd complain if you handed me the keys to either of them!

cheers

I have been to that link some time ago. If I remember correctly that car is a dragster. The 280BHP car I am talking about is a full rally car. I think it was raced by auriol. It is fully welded and all the rally parts used in the rally car are here.

I think any car with 700+bhp would be a dragster , but i think it can go around corners too

I don't know if that's the 750bhp one, i just remember reading about it on Evocorner, i've posted the address earlier in this thread.
The Delta is a cool car but I would never tune it. Some things are best left untouched. It sounds silly to compare, but just like I wouldn't tune a Ferrari, I wouldn't tune an Integrale (unless I had 2, that is, but then i'd still have to think about it.. )
I would never touch a limited edition EVO, and it really hurts to see one that has been modified... Look at it this way, an evo2 giallo is rarer than an F50!!
If i had to choose between them of course i'd go for the ferrari but theres no denying that integrale evo's are rare cars and will become collectors items fairly soon..
dont get me wrong, i m not completely against modified 'grales for racing and rallying, i think they should be non-evo, but rebodied and re-engineered 16v's!

cheers

Lancia has made my all time favorite rally machine. Too bad they are difficult to get in most parts of the world. Oh well, at least we can have fun with the one in GT3 (and it's a hell of a car too, even in just a video game).

While I love the Delta EVO series, my all time favourite Lancia will remain forever, the Stratos. That was just a cool car. When people see a Stratos, they always say "what the hell is that, some sort of Ferrari?" The driver says, "No, it's a Lancia."

The bystander replies, "what the hell is that, some sort of Ferrari?"

This is why I drive a 924. They don't know what it is, but they know it's a Porsche.
