Skyline/G35/350z

Wanted to know what every one thought about these cars and i heard that G35 is going to be a USA sort of skyline till the real thing comes out is this true? And what do you think about the 350z?, Whats its MAX power output and what not?, and has any one driven it? could it almost as good as a skyline? I really like the 350z im thinking of waiting for a used one instead of waiting for an EVO,STI,or Skyline im I thinking straigt:bonghitte

I got to ride in a 350Z a few weekends ago. holy shit. I'm in love. I didn't really look at the other choices. Since it's the only one out of all the choices there that I've personally experienced, it's a bias vote. Get over it. :licker:

Well the G35 is absolutelly not a skyline. It is a luxury version on the 350Z under the infinity badge.
As bang for the cash the R34 might be good in japan but in the US for over 90K its too expensive. There are rumors of a new skyline R35 that will be sold world wide but I don't think there is anything official.

well if your in love with the 350z, then you'll be blown away by the soon to be R35. if you think the 350z is already balls out fast, then imagine how much faster it would be with 2 turbo chargers added on, with the skyline GT-R's trade mark ATTESSA ETS-PRO ( electronic torque split 4WD thats rear wheel drive bias) and the Super HICAS ( 4 wheel steering ) its rumored to be atleast 400hp to 450hp. the VQ35DETT is not made up. on this season of the JGTC they spotted a few R34 GT-R's running on a VQ35DETT ( twin turbo 350Z motor) and even nissan of japan says this. the Z will never place the GT-R. however it will be competting in the GT300 class as soon as next season. however, nissans big guns will still be the skyline GT-R which competes in the GT500 class along with mc laren F1's and Lambourgini's. and still beats them! how you like them apples?

To clear up a little confusion, the G35 is a entry level luxury sports sedan, and a very good one(just not as good as the 330CI ). The G35 Coupe is a concept car, a luxury sports car/GT based off of the 350Z. Both the 350Z and the G35 Sedan are built on the same platform.

Also on this platform is the new "Skyline", which is a RWD sedan in Japan. The new car which takes over the heritage of the older Skyline GTRs is simply known as, the "GTR". It's similar in appearance to the 350Z, but has the trademark quad tail lights, and an R34ish grill.

The cars you listed that you are interested are the STI, GTR, LanEvo and 350Z. These are all turbocharged AWD cars, with the exception of the 350Z, which is naturally aspirated and RWD. It's more of a sports car, due to it's front engine RWD lay out, 6 speed and naturally aspirated engine. The STI/GTR/LanEvos are more entry level supercars.

Thank you CBass. I was about to hop on and say that the Infiniti G35 IS the Skyline in Japan. I bet most ppl don't realize that there is a 4 door Sky. And it too can be modded just like the GT-R. For further proof just check Nissan Japans website. I personally would choose the G35.

So the 350z is like the skyline but the skyline is TT and AWD, so where can i go to see pics of this skyline thats comeing out and how much will it cost? Which would you Street Racr with?

it may not have the mean in your face "i'm goin to tear you to shreds" look like the R34 did. but the R35 is shapin up to be a pretty mean lookin car itself

and here is a pic of the rear end from the earlier prototype. its still basically the same thing except that the final version will have a rear wing, no black stripe, and will have a different hood scoop. now for which car i would pick to street race with? well i would definity pick the GT-R. the GT-R handles better, stops better and will make a 350Z look like its standing still.

Well without a doubt the real monster here is the skyline (watch beast from the east to see j-spec skylines dishing out 900-1000+ hp on dry and wet roads: those guys are crazy), but not everyone can afford a skyline. I am impressed by the G35 coupe which will apparently push a few more horses than the G35 sedan, however out of this line up of cars my choice would definitely be the Evolution 8. Based on its rich rally heritage this 2.0L SOHC turbo I-4 will give me all the bang for the buck I need with terrific handling (I live in Barbados so small winding roads require great handling), and quick get up and go attitude. Of course being a rally fan I would tend to have a bias to this car as well as the STi.

What have they done noooo why o why, they ruined Skylines first STIs WRXs and EVOs now skylines thats the last straw!

But really, you guys have to agree the old look was way better i want a Real skyline not this crap. I saw a pic of the Skyline thats supost to come hear and it looked like the old skylines when did this s@#!t come out?

i still think it looks pretty nice. its no R34 but its still a mean lookin car. i mean if you saw how bad the earlier prototypes looked. this final one looks pretty good. the pic of the front view is the near final. the one showing the rear is one of the earlier ones. the frontal view looks alot nicer on the final one. and if you thought the 350z looks nice then why do you find the R35 ugly? i mean the R35 looks waaay better then the Z in my opinion

Well now that i look at it, it still looks like a skyline a little i guess its not so bad but whats this crap about the R35 whiping a 350z? they have the same engine and platform! except the R35 has a TT and a few other extras. I agree the G35 would win but it would be close it wouldnt make the 350z look like its standing still.

P.S Have you guys been to the Nissan jap site their Skyline is F#@king ugly not kidding its awful go look! Its a Huge 4 dr not a small 4dr which woudnt be bad but its a huge!!!!! 4dr
