Engine failsafe program
I have a 2000 750il and the engine failsafe light comes on for a short period after startup then goes away. I think it has something to do with the brakes. Does anyone know what this means because my mechanic does'nt. On cold start the front end vibrates at about 45 mph then goes away, is this all tied into the brake sensors?
Thanks for your help, Chris Last edited by Chrisaro; 04-13-2005 at 11:56 AM. |

Re: Engine failsafe program
Hi Chris,
Did you ever resolve the engine failsafe problem with your 750il. I have a 1996 750il and the engine failsafe message is displayed on my dash and does not go away. The dealer said it was the valve knock sensors and wanted to pull the intake manifold to replace the knock sensors for about $1,800.00 but I don't trust them. Appreciate the feedback, Mark Quote:
