Interior Lights

I have a '93 J30t and I replaced the lights in the doors and footwells w/ some bright blue bulbs. Only problem is I cant figure out how to control the lights so I can cruise with them on without having to have a door open. Anyone know how to rig it that way or have suggestions?

I'm just guessing but seems like one way is to disable those button switches in the door frames and then put a manual switch under the dash, attached to the wires from the button switches. Need a switch somewhere or else they'll stay on even when car is off.
