My truck is sick.

I got a 1994 Nissan Pick-up that is dead in the water. Was driving fine until it died at a stop sign...hasn't started since. Any thoughts...aslo does anyone know where I can get the ECU codes for tis truck? and How to retreive them without going to a shoop or buying a code scanner..Thanks in advance

Talking Try this

You might want to get your timing chain checked. you should check it every 75,000 miles or so.

It is possible that the timing is off, but you should start more with more simple things. Make sure all your firing mechanisms are in order. Check your sparkplug wires, plugs, distributor, etc... It could even be something as simple as a bad relay. You might try changing some of your relays around, (particularly the ones that control the engine components) just make sure you swap them with like colors. If simple things like that don't work, I guess it's time for a mechanic. For that, or even for the codes you want, you may try approaching a Nissan Mechanic. Many times they are willing to do side jobs after they leave work for a price that is much more affordable than the dealership gets, which is usually around 35bucks an hour.

Well you could kind of say it is the timing. It appears that there is a guide for the timing belt. Well it shattered and tore the head up pretty bad. We are getting it rebuilt this weekend and dropping the oil pan to insure that there are no other pieces. Fortunately it appears that the lower end didn't get hit too bad. will be checking that out too. Thanks for the input.
