Lowering my Car
I am finally close to lowering my car, but i need a little info on springs, shocks, and camber kits. I want like around 2.25 inch lowering, I dont want to spend a wack of money either. Should i get new shocks also?n And what about a camber kit, should I get one?
help me out here a little, thanks.

If I were you I would find some Neuspeed or Eibach Springs as they are good quality and affordable. I would also get new shocks if I were you as that low will blow the stock ones pretty soon. KYB makes some cheap ones called GR2 or you can get AGX which are adjustable, Koni makes real good ones but are pricey. Stay away from Tokico shocks, I hear more bad than good about them. As for camber kit the best is made by Ingalls as it replaces the UCA anchor bolts and is real heavy duty and is not going to come apart like I hear a lot of the ball joint kinds do. For the drop you want you need about 3* of adjustability. Price for all this would be about around $200 for the springs, $160-$400 depending on the struts you want, and about $120.80. $.80 being for the 8 or so washers you buy to correct the rear the cheap and effective way.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, you can lower the car for realativley cheap, but it will be cheap if you do it like that. Like, you can buy just the springs, but without the shocks the car is going to ride like shit.. Bouncy, and it won't handle well. But lots of people do it. If you lower it and don't get a camber kit, you'll wear through tires like crazy.. Last year I wore through a set of brand new Kuhmo tires in about 6,000kms.. They didn't even last me 3 months.. Just due to the fact that my alinment is so out because I wouldn't buy the proper equipment to do it right. I've wore through so many sets of tires due to bad camber, and it cost me a shit load more money than just doing it right in the first place, but I guess thats how some people need to learn. The hard way.

when you do the springs and struts go ahead and plan on replacing most of the bushings in the rear suspension, I took mine apart this week to put my ground control's on and all the rubber bushings are shot, the trailing arm bushings are literally just barely hanging on.
if you fix this you have two options, urethane or stock...I'm going with stock for now but when the trailing arm bushings break which shouldn't take long I'm going to buy the urethane kit for the whole car, the cheapest i've found so far is 250 for the car and then 100 for the trailing arms, anyone know where I can get it cheaper?

I would suggest doing it all at once. Buy the springs and the shocks and also a camber kit if you desire and have it all done at the same time. You should be able to do it yourself. it is not that hard

Hey SiZ, how much did you have your car lowered to go through your tires that fast? I don't really want to spend the money on a camber kit if I don't have to.

I would suggest waiting on the camber kit. If you don't lower it too much, then you could just get an alignment and be done with it. If not then you need a camber kit. But the key is to measure the amount of camber that you have. Depending on that measurement, that will tell you which camber kit to buy. Some are only -3/4° to 1° and others are +1.25° to 3°. Ingalls are the best camber kits, you can get them cheap at groupbuycenter.com.
