Merry Christmas! Finished: Toyota Aristo (6 pics, big size)

Hi all! Just finished this Aoshima Toyota Aristo VIP car to give to my piano teacher tomorrow as a gift. It was a pretty straightforward build, I don't like how the wheels stick out (especially the weird camber thing in the back!) so if I were to build this kit again, I'd give it an aggressive body kit (think Veilside combat), fender flares, and a GT-Wing.

The headlights were painted with Model Masters Chrome Silver, I was impressed with the quality of this paint, which was worlds away from Tamiya X-11.

Nice looking Dan

Here's an idea, why dont you sub those 19" with some 18"? Hopefully those wont stick out that much and you get a set of 19" to keep.

Looks nice, you should put some thinner wheels in it though, not smaller diameter, just cut the rims down a mm of something, won't that work? I'm sure he will love it even if he doesn't like that car

Thumbs up Fixed!

Good ideas, everyone! I changed the rims to 18" Aoshima Stimulators, I think it looks better now.

Looks fantastic Dan, really nice work!

Did those 19"s actually come with the kit, coz they really spoil the look big time!? Looks alot better now with the 18"s and i think you should take a new set of pics to show us in its new glory

Yes Chris, they came with the kit! They're the same ones on P-Man's yellow Lancer, I'll save them for (I think) my Supra.

You're right, I should take one last round of pics before I send it off, to have something to remind her by It's dark already here, so I'll take some more tomorrow morning.

The rear still stick out a bit

Hehe... I guess it's a bit too late to fix the suspension, huh?

IMO (if you were keeping the kit), i'd leave the 19's on it but just tuck them into the guards....the look would be 10 times better

The paint is almost perfect by the look of it....very deep looking.
Nice work

Thumbs up Nice!

That came out nice! I really like the color, both styles of rims look good, if you can tuck the larger ones in that would look fine. I've gotta build mine someday...heck, I've driven the real car (pretty slick machine).
