Re: grand am race

In 1989 I beleive the Camaro had the 2.8 v6 or maybe the 3.1. They weren't fast at all

Re: grand am race

My buddy has a 2.8 in his camaro , its slow and useless , he was beaten by a fire fly at the track last year. He tries to keep up with me on the highway but cannot and damn near cooks his engine doin it. It would be nice to race a lower mileage v6 camaro so I can have a true opinion. He can sure roast the tires on it tho.

He's talking about old V6 Camaros, they weren't quick at all, the 2.8 had a bunch of low end power, making it relatively easy to burnout and make them look fast lol. They also came with the 2.5 Iron duke 4 cylinder for a few years, I can't even imagine how slow they were

Re: grand am race

I had an 86 Camero with the 2.8. When I was in England, I had a feord escort behind me with a 4 banger, and I could not loose it. My have been a Cosworth though. You get those in England. That was about 1993.
I just put a monkey rigged CAI on my 2002 GA GT, and it reminds me of a feord mustang. It sounds so cool, I can't stay off the gas. My foot just pushes down on the pedal, and hear the little roar. Can't wait til I get a good exhaust sytem. I used the stock air box for my CAI. Now I have no washer fluid reservoir. Need to figure something out for that.

Re: grand am race

why did you have remove the washer fluid resevoire? you didnt have to do that. your ram air setup that comes with your gt was a cold air intake already.
