big 16g turbo

Hi i have a 96 eclipse gs-t
i have a blitz cold air intake, 255 walbro fuel pump, 650cc fic injectors with afc neo unit and a 3" greddy exhaust system but i have a stock exhuast manifold still.

i was planning on buying A EVO 111 BIG 16G TURBO BUT I WAS WANDERING IF YOU NEEDED A J PIPE with the turbo to install it or no and also i wanted to buy an aftermarket exhaust manifold too, but can you use a stock manifold on a big 16g turbo
thanks alot
any help would be appreciated!!

Re: big 16g turbo

I wouldnt get an aftermarket mani if I were you, the 2g mani flows plenty good for a 16g. Peep the link yo.

Re: big 16g turbo

Remember that the EVO III O2 housing has a different angle than stock and will put alot of strain on the flex section of your downpipe if not made for the EVO III. RRE makes a downpipe for those who use that housing.

Just a tidbit of info in case you decide on that total package.

Re: big 16g turbo

I use the e3 o2 and A "stock fitting" o2 back exhaust. It comes close to the transmission housing but is easily cleared. The flex section is barely strained but hey thats what its there for.

Interesting, I wonder if it's the same for a 1G? I would love to use one and at $99 brand new it would be worth it to me to try it.

Wow, good info. Saved me from getting the Evo III like I was going to, fuck if I am going to get a new DP. I guess a 2g will have to do for me.
