1993 K1500 Misfire?
I have a 305 with 160,000 miles on it. I've kept the truck in near perfect condition since it was new and it runs near perfect as well. Well, almost perfect. When the weather turns cold (25 degrees or colder) and the engine is cold, it will start and run without any issues unless I try to accelerate to quickly within the first minute or so after starting it. The engine will act as though it is misfiring or intermittently starving for fuel. It's a TBI and this only happens within the first minute or so when it is stone cold. If I let up on the accelerator for not more than a few seconds, the misfire or starvation goes away and it runs perfectly from that point forward. Again, this ONLY happens when it's stone cold during cold weather. It NEVER happens when the engine is cold and the weather is warm. I just changed the MAP Sensor thinking that might be the issue but it wasn't. The fuel filter is new as well. (I change it every 15,000 Miles). I'm now thinking it might be the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Any ideas?

Check the fuel pressure first to make sure.
Check the spray pattern from the injectors. If at all uneven, run some seafoam through it. If equiped with a heat riser, make sure the actuator on it is working.

Re: 1993 K1500 Misfire?
I did check the spray pattern on the two injectors and it is a real nice cone shape with no dripping. I've run injector cleaner with every oil change (3,000 - 5,000 miles) since it was new. The heat riser failed almost 6 years ago and I took it off. May be that's it huh?

Re: 1993 K1500 Misfire?
Well, I installed another heat riser valve on the air filter housing and reinstalled the tube from the heat shield on the exhaust manifold. It's still stumbling when it's cold. I did make another observation though. When I press the accelerator far enough that it feels as though a secondary is opening is when it stumbles. I know there is no actual secondary on this TBI like on a carberator, it just feels like that extra burst. Any ideas?

Re: 1993 K1500 Misfire?
I had a similar problem with my 92 k2500 with 305. I replaced the throttle position sensor and that solved that problem.
