Almost any honda tb will work with it.

The tps is located different between the y8 and si. But I'm sure you can make it work

Re: y8 throttle body

If you use the y8 tb you would have to cut the plug and put the obd2 one on. If you already have the a6 tb id just use that and call it a day.

Re: y8 throttle body

no! you shouldn't have to cut the plug... just depin the wires and plug them back in the right places on the new plug.. most the plugs on my car are from OBD-1 civic's from when we did the MPFI swap... they just plug right in, and they don't have problems there.

It just looks nicer... lol. that's my

Re: y8 throttle body

But the y8 is obd-2. You could try to depin th plug if its the same pins then great.

Re: y8 throttle body

they should be, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't be, but I haven't personally done it w/ OBD2 plugs... the wires all most likely have the same ends on them tho, so try that first.. unless you don't care that your wiring is all taped up and stuff, in which case, do as you will.

Re: y8 throttle body

if I can't swap pinouts, solder and heatshrink is the next obvious way for me... I seldom use butt connectors, and I never just join wires and tape them up unless its' a quick cut-together just to get home, then I fix it the right way.

Re: y8 throttle body

Id rather twist a wire together the right way than use a butt connector..at least when it comes to under the hood. My crx had the whole engine harness attached with those little bastards and had to take each one of them out and solder..

Re: y8 throttle body

Nah, when I use butt connectors, I use aerospace industry grade connectors.... you have to twist them on to the wire, then heat them up, which happens from engine bay heat anyway... so then you don't have to tape it up, b/c it's waterproof.. (and high-altitude proof) I have a small 5 lb. bag of them for everything from 30g on up to 2g wire.

Re: y8 throttle body

A tps is a tps is a tps. It doesnt matter what year it came from. The only tps that is different is the pre OBD D15 from the dpfi manifold.
