Re: engine swap base to z24
Nope, have to change engine mounts, transaxle, PCM, and wiring harness.

Re: engine swap base to z24
i've heard many good things about the 99 z24 engine. however... i've had nothing but problems and wouldn't put that hell on anyone. i've done nothing to sup it up. all my stuff has been to keep it going. always timing related issues. piece of sh%t!!! mine is dead as we speak!
![]() J-Ri you really seem to know your sh&t wish you were right here for mine. even my mechanic is presently stumped. Last edited by clutes1973; 12-08-2009 at 04:04 AM. |

Re: engine swap base to z24
They were very good engines for their time, but as is always the case with old technology, they're outdated. They make good HP for the displacement, but are still mostly reliable. A PITA to work on, but no worse than many other comparable engines from other manufacturers.
