I'm toast!

I have a 1992 ford tempo, 2.3 4 cyl. The car belongs to a family member! Now you know why I said I was Toast! Dang if you do! Dang if you don't! I try to help everyway I can! Any way; this car was run low on gas and then shut down! I've checked everything; from ignition: ( wires, plugs, cap, rotor, timing is dead on!), then I checked fuel lines; changed the fuel filter, I have 60 psi at fuel rail!, The damper has vacuum and is holding! I have noided the injectors, and they are firing perfect! No fault codes! I'm thinking injectors? but in 38 years ive never seen all 4 get stuck at one time! Any thoughts?

Re: I'm toast!

Don't injectors have little filters in them? Maybe all the gunk plugged them up.

Re: I'm toast!

60 psi is pretty high for that car. You said you checked ignition, does that mean that you have spark? If you crank for a while and pull a spark plug is there evidence of fuel getting there?

Re: I'm toast!

60 psi is right for this vehicle and i have it constantly. I have strong blue spark at the plugs. I have pulled the fuel rail and cranked the engine over and have a very good conical spray from all- DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!! The valve timing is correct, the ign. timing is dead on 10 degrees, I've now thrown parts at IE: mass air flow sensor, coolant temp sensor, tps, you name it! iv'e replaced it! In 38 years or repairing autos I've never seen this! Any clues ? Thanks

Re: I'm toast!

I'm sorry, but how can you have an air lock when all 4 injectors are spraying a good conical pattern at the recomended pressure constantly?? Did I miss something in my 38 years as a ase auto tech?

Re: I'm toast!

So its got fuel, and its got spark?

You know its got good spark, and at the right time.
We also assume its got fuel at the right time.

Has it got good fuel?
Is it possible it's got some water contamination?
