airbag light stays on

I have a 2003 Forester. The airbag light is staying on. Any ideas?

You have a fault in the airbag system and it's not arming correctly - get it looked at properly.

Your vehicle has a fairly complex airbag system, including seat belt pretensioners, front and side airbags as well as sensors located through-out the vehicle. You will need to get a scanner to read the fault codes and tell you which symptom your vehicle suffers. There are about 20 different fault codes. Anyone telling you to throw a clokcspring at it is fooolish and spending your money unwisely.
Once you have the code, you have the answer. You can look up code description for this car at www.airbagsolutions.com
Also, there was a recall for a pinched wire in the seat. If the code is 41 or 42, that should be covered under a warranty recall.
