Whats the stock HP??
Does someone know the stock horsepower numbers for the 1999 4.3w?L?

didnt read the whole thing, the year was right in front of me
  . blazes is right:2wd s-series = 180hp/245 tq 4wd s-series = 190hp/250 tq only difference between the two is the computer's tuning

I've been looking for two days to figure this out. I am buying a 94 s10 4.3 where the 8th digit is a W. I can't seem to find a definitive answer whether the W is the higher HP or the Z is. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

94 CPI engine code "W" was the high performance version of the 4.3L
200hp, 250lbs torque I have to look for the "Z" engine numbers, as I don't remember them, but it was the TBI 4.3 which had lower HP and Torque.

Hey Thanks!!
I'm feeling better and better about this purchase! It only has 71k on it and is spotless. Only a little rust on the bottom of the drivers door. This is my new plow truck/utility truck (my 91s10 blazer bit the dust). I appreciate your help!
