Arrow '88 Accord vs '93 MX-6

Hey guys,

Now before I tell you anything, my car is a bomb! Its just awful. It was bought from the Bronx NYC with 200,000 miles on it for $500 dollars. Its an 5-speed 1988 Honda Accord DX Hatchback (98HP.)

My friend recently bought a '93 MX-6 V6 LS Auto (80k miles) and as I joke I ask him to run against me. We go to a deserted street and run. He says to not even countdown, just to go and as soon as he sees me go he'll start. Vroom Vroom gone, had him by a car length the entire time, unbelieveable. I won.
He was so shocked so we go again, this time with a countdown. He guns it fully now and I stayed within half a car length the whole time till the end, he won.

I'm surprised my engine didnt go through the floor. I wouldnt recommend racing $500 cars, but it sure is satisfying keeping up with a car 10x the price you bought it for.

That's hard to believe. I own an 88 Accord LX 5-Speed and have a K&N Filter and an upgraded ignition system and the car is still slow as all heck.......Those Mazda MX-6's are really quick........That's really hard to believe...unless he has no compression on a couple of cylinders....LOL...Maybe you beat him...but it's hard to believe because I know those 86-89 accords have NO power at all...they are stricktly econo boxes......now if you told me yall drove all the way across country and he ran out of gas before you.......then i'd believe you.....I get like 30-35 mpg....sometimes even more on the highway.

Automatic means half a second slower?? Never ever heard anything like that before. Automatics can be just as fast if not faster than manuals, so don't go thinking that then get your ass handed to you.

im not saying no automatics could beat me (cuz a lot out there can), wut i am saying is, compare the same car in auto, and manual trim, and it would be around .4 seconds slower. Look at Manual Civic vs an auto. it would be around .3-.4 seconds slower in the auto.

If you take 2 engines of the EXACT same kind and then have them in the same EXACT car......an automatic will ALWAYS be slower than a manual transmission...PERIOD...END OF CONVO!!!

Haha, you would think so, but I did win. Anyway why would someone who just got a new car, lose on purpose! Now he can never make fun of my Accord.
