94 Ninety-Eight Horn sticks
My steering wheel has an air bag and I want to remove the horn plate because it keeps sticking and horn keeps sounding when I press it.I want to splice horn wire to monetary switch until I can find a replacement.I removed the 4 screws on steering wheel but the horn plate will not come off. I did not try to pry because of airbag. How do I remove it?

Re: 94 Ninety-Eight Horn sticks
Hi there:
On your vehicle, the horn contacts are built into the back of the airbag. You will need to remove the airbag to access the wire that connects to it. The four screws on the back of the steering wheel should be 30 tox and then the airbag should lift off. Be sure to disconnect the battery before you attempt to work on this system. The backup power on this vehicle lasts for 10 minutes after you disconnect the battery...so disconnect the battery, go get a cup of coffee and then work on your horn wiring. PS, don;t mess with the yellow wires...those are for the airbag system
