Turbo a 420A... I Want Your 2Cents

Ok I had a '98 Eclipse RS. It was a daily driver and not so bad in Auto-Cross! Well I sold the Eclipse and couldn't seem to stay away. Now I have a '99 GS, and love it! But I need that turbo. I may want a 20G, but how solid does this kit sound?

Looks pretty decent. Dont believe his claims though, that 16g is not going to put down 400 hp let alone without it being boosted to shit with more tuning than an AFC can support, agressive cams, and a SMIM. Also, 420a rods would be flying on 400 whp. (right Dave?) I think it would be a good starter kit for ya, but know that you are going to need a built motor before that 20g should be slapped on there.

Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order.

The Purple People Eater will ride again... January 2011 can't come soon enough.

For sure. I have eagle rods, JE pistons, and Stage II Turbo Crane cams. I wouldn't need those injectors since I have a Venom fuel rod and injectors (the injectors I have may not atomize as well without the right fuel pressure an the 20G)... Still tempted. Please let me know what you think.

Go ahead and run megasquirt if your going for that much power. You are going to need full control over fuel and spark.

lol Kuhn is a common German name here. (Search Judge Kuhn in Oakland County if u don't believe me.) I think I saw his car a while ago, but don't accuse me of posting a meaningless thread. I was, and still am, looking for some input... btw I live in Birmingham, MI now. I should update that.

What do you need input on? According to your sig you have a turbo 420a so you should know what your doing.

ok this is getting really confusing haha. I think KuhN you know what you are doing it seems as though you are willing to and already have spent the dough on this so I don't see any reason to stop you. I say go for it. What toher input do you want? you seems to know everything there is to do. why don't you be a little more specific and tell us what you want to know other than input?

I hate being the guinea pig. I never used the 16G (ported or not). I guess the input that I want is WTF can a setup like this be capable of? If I got that kit I have a lot to support it.

And your capable of alot if you have the dough...do you want another daily driver...a track car...or a car that can post up some sick dyno videos on youtube...the engine is yours to create with the money

But you dont seem like a n00b in this field you should know that

plus your already on a pretty good start...with what you already have and what your planning on so far
