2003 Ford Windstar 87,000 miles
Noticed a squeaking noise from the front end that only happens when turning right. Notice this mainly at lower speeds. Especially after stop and just turning right. Seems to be greater when going over a bump. Ideas???? Rides fine except for this. |

Re: Squeaking noise when turning right
I would investigate the tie rod ends and also the stabilizer bar links. Can be difficult to trouble shoot ... sometimes ya just have to replace them to take them out of the picture.

Re: Squeaking noise when turning right
I saw a suspension guy trouble shoot by using spray oil and a little bit of grease to locate a problem. One area by one he did this. Took a about 20 min and a few trips around the block. But he located a bad rubber bushing and replaced.Keep in mind he located the bad bushing first but that did not mean that was the noise until he tried his method. Any way the oil grease stop the noise but he replaced the bad bushing anyway..

Re: Squeaking noise when turning right
The tie rod ends caused a squeek on my 99.
These are very easy to replace and the parts don't cost too much. |

Re: Squeaking noise when turning right
I also had a low speed squeeking in the front suspension that was eliminated after replacing the outter tie rod ends. I believe it came from the rubber boot rubbing on metal.
I had taken it to the Ford dealership (it started while the vehicle was still under warrenty) for this problem. They could not cure it, and said it was normal. |
