Any idea how to get free international text?

I was looking all over online to see if I can get free int'l text message that I can send out through my phone instead of using a computer. Anyone has any suggestions?

Get a plan internationally. My ex from Turkey could call anywhere in the world and text at no additonal charges. US sucks. Very strict on, you can't have friends outside the US or we will charge you! Everywhere else, call wherever.

My experience when travelling overseas is that whilst on global roaming to someone else's network, the $$$ to call either locally or back home is horrendous - $900 for a 3 week trip, however text either back home or locally was the same price it was from home - 25c or something.

Likewise, when texting people internationally from home I've found it's the same cost as a local text - 25c, you just have to ensure that the number you're sending text to is configured for the international format, eg. +[country code][mobile number].

I don't think Tmobile offers any of that. I know of a couple of people that text free from other countries. We do suck lol

^Yup, although tmobile is nice. They do have one international plan I looked up. And unless you use it all the time it's not worth it.

My g/f and i have a plan with them. Customer service is awesome! I swear they give something to their employees.

I love TMOBILE as well. Great service but there reception isn't all that great. Anyways I have unlimited text. Unfortunately its not for international. I'm going to see what kind of deals they have international text. Like OZ says, if it's the same price as calling...it's pointless.
