Sporty fast racing-quality sedans
Hey, I'm looking to buy a nice used car from 5000-12000 dollars. I want a fast car, but I think I'm looking for a sedan style car, either a coupe or 4 doors.
Some cars I've been looking at are: Nissan Maxima 2002 and up Acura 3.2TL Type-S Honda Accord v6 Mazda6 Anyone have any suggestions for me? Which of these cars, or other sedans that are fast and sporty, would be good for upgrading to get high horsepower? Which overall would make the best sporty fast powerful sedan? (take cheap mods into accout) Ok thanks. |

Re: Sporty fast racing-quality sedans
Wrong section man, but I'd say save up a bit more and get the BMW 540 (E39). None of the above you listed are really that popular with tuners, so therefore not many mods that get "high horsepower." What I mean by that is, you can do anything on your own, but there aren't many, if any at all, "bolt on" kits. Stillen has a SC kit for the Maxima, but you have to get the timing from the 3.0, don't know much about the others.

I agree, wrong section. But before this gets moved, WRX's are highly mod-able and are just coming into your price range.

I noticed the WRX is a 4 cylinder? How can it keep up with the v6's and v8's?

Re: Sporty fast racing-quality sedans
The Benz would be an awful nice ride!
How can the WRX keep up? Check out some threads here to see what that four-cylinder can do: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=79 |

Re: Sporty fast racing-quality sedans
3.5 maxima's where it's at. this may be coming from a biased source though. the acura's sweet too but it's heavy as shit. my buddy has an '01 CL-S, my old 3.0 maxima would run door to door with it.

I can't believe people still think like this in this day and age You're from one of those middle states aren't you? I joke of course, but as others have already said it no longer matters how many cylinders you have, that was in the 70's/80's.

Check out a Mazdaspeed6, they are incetivized out the ass right now. You can get one cheaper than for what I paid for my Speed3. BMW 540 would be nice, but you wanna talk about expensive ass tunning? A cheap bolt ons for a BMW cost more than some of the top of the line bolt ons for most cars. WRX would be a good choice as well, and the older wagons are dead sexy. I also hear Mitsu is comming out with a mid level lancer, but I just cant get into the new look of the Lancer. Might want to check out an older Impala SS, they can scoot pretty good with the right mods. If you decide to go with BMW, stick with a 3er. They are going to be a bit cheaper to mod than a 5er. You can also get used M3 Sedans for good cost. Oh, and good luck finding a two door sedan. You might find a big ass coupe, like an Audi A/S 4 drop top...but sedan generally means its a four door. Acura TSX would also be a good place to look, they take to mods well. When my roommates TSX was stock, I would put a bus length or two on him when we raced. After he got I/H/E, he would pull on me by about a nose. You might also want to look into IS300s. The older ones. A pretty good friend of mine has one, and while its nothing impressive bone stock, you have a ton of options with the aftermarket. And its a Toyota, so you know it'll be reliable. It all depends on what you want to do, how much you want to spend, how much you have to spend, etc. Oh, and to echo everyone else... Wrong section.
