Unhappy S10 Stalls once... then runs great.

Hi All

I have a problem and I am stumped. I have a 91 S10 with low Km's. I have recently replaced: plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, and the EGR Valve. And all-in-all it now runs great... with one exception.

When the truck is cold, it will start up great, and run fine for about 2 or 3 blocks. Then as I take my foot off the gas to down shift, or come to a stop, it will stall. It re-starts right away, and then will run fine for the rest of the day. Once in a while it will stall twice, but usually just once.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I once had an 86 Ford Ranger that did something similar and the Ford Dealer replaced this little disc shaped peice on the intake to the air filter that apparently pre-heats the air in the morning when the vehicle is still cold. Could it be a similar problem with the S10. Anyone know what that part is called?

Thanks!

Heater grid for the carb base gasket.
But they are not used any more on fuel injection engines.

Check IAC control.
