2003 Envoy A/C and Automatic Settings Feature

I actually have two issues with my 2003 Envoy SLT. I have the 6 cylinder version and recently replaced the battery. Now my blower only has air coming out of the floor or defroster vents. When I have the mode selected for floor and dash vents, it only allows air out of the floor vents. When the mode is for the dash vents only, I get no air whatsoever even though I can hear the fan running. It only started doing this since I replaced the battery on Sunday. The other issue I have is that the automatic settings that are based on the key fob remote. Sometimes (intermittently) when I unlock the vehicle, the passenger side mirror will self-adjust either up or down, but not to the setting I have programmed. It seems to do it more often after the vehicle has been setting for a long time. Is the on-board computer possibly messed up? Any ideas how to fix this?

Re: 2003 Envoy A/C and Automatic Settings Feature

Their are doors inside the HVAC unit that open and close based on voltage input from the control unit. Sometimes the motors that control these doors go crazy, and they forget what position they are in. This may be the case, and you may just have to bring the car in to have them recalibrate the mode actuators. As for the mirrors, there is a bulletin for these vehicles for either reprogramming or replacing the door modules.

Thanks for the info, EMT1134. I guess I'll take it in to my local dealer and have them take a look at it. I was hoping I might be able to correct the problem myself, but it sounds like I need dealer support. You don't happen to know whewre I could a copy of the bulletin you referred to regarding the doors, do you? Thanks again!!

There aren't any bulletins for that specific problem, but there are other mirror functions that usually fail as a result of faulty door modules, so this is most-likely related.
