PCV filter location?
The Purolater catalogue in the auto parts store listed a replacement part for the '92 GEO Metro PCV filter.
I bought it. Now, I have no idea where it goes. There's nothing sticking out of the valve cover or the air filter housing that looks like it would accept the thing. The hose connections for it are way too small (like, maybe an 1/8th of an inch). What gives? The only hose that I've got connecting the air filter and valve cover is about as thick around as my thumb, maybe 7 or 8 inches long all toghether, with one fat branch outlet, also about as big around as a digit... |

Re: PCV filter location?
on that hose where it comes out of the intake manifold is the pcv valve. take the hose off and tou will see a nub sticking out of the intake. there are 2 screws holding it and a plate in place. pull the screws out and it will come out. when you put the new one in the side with the o-ring goes down. also make sure the rubber hose is clear on the inside, sometimes they plug up

Re: PCV filter location?
![]() PCV VALVE TEST Remove PCV valve from Intake manifold. Run the engine at idle. Place your thumb over end of valve to check for vacuum. If there is no vacuum at valve, check for plugged hoses or manifold port, or PCV valve. Replace plugged or deteriorated hoses. Turn the engine "OFF" and remove PCV valve, shake valve and listen for a rattle of the needle inside. If valve does not rattle, replace valve. |
