Parts Trading Thread - Look Here

Hi guys. As it stands I'm having a bit of bother with my Calsonic Skyline GT-R Gr.A kit. I can't find the spoiler anywhere . I was wondering if anyone has a spare unpainted one lying around from a messed up kit. I will be quite happy to pay for the part as the sprue would cost a fortune from HLJ. I was thinking about my missing piece when I realised that I have a few messed up models in my cupboard that I would gladly give to anyone needing spare parts. Therefore I think we should start a thread to trade missing broken parts of models instead of going to the expense of replacements from the likes of HLJ. If anyone requires a missing part from:

Tamiya Pennzoil Skyling GT-R (R34) - Body was crushed during transit (HLJ sent replacement kit)
Monogram 1996 T'bird McDonalds Nascar - Don't Ask!!
Revell Dragster Kit - Any, were used for kit bashing.

And I have a few others I need to poke out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks,

Rob (G.T.i.R)

PS I live in the UK if that helps, I will pay postage.

Rob, if you call 01525-385-779 this will get you through to The Hobby Company (Tamiya's UK distributer) parts department. Tell them the part you require and the kit number from which it came and they should be able to send a replacement.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do they charge much? How long do the parts take to come usually? Also the offer is still open for the other kits.

I've only had parts from them once, which they did not charge me for but i did have to request them about 3 times, they seem very incompetent!

BTW, I'm quite interested in some dragster parts for a potential project i'm thinking of.

fullbloodchop01, Trust me, that bumper is'nt gona fit on an itr, Iv'e already tried putting a stock r33 bumper onto my itr, it's too wide, It would be good on a stock tamiya r33.

Iwas just thinking whether a 'trading' thread could be given that 'important' tag or something to keep it near the top. And also whether it would be possible for people wanting to get or give away parts to be able to delete those messages from the thread once that has been done so that we always had an up to date list of 'wants' and 'have spare' messages.

Just a thought.

All things considered, I still think the parts asking/giving works best a thread at a time, especially since they'll all become obsolete so quickly. As soon as the parts are spoken for, the discussion goes back-channel and the thread is essentially dead.

*Need a part; post a thread and see if someone can spare one. We have enough traffic that your chances are decent. If no one replies... well, then I guess no one can help.

*Have a part to spare; post a thread and do a 'first come-first serve' deal. Works well enough most of the time.... I'm actually very fond of the way another board does these. They label them "PIF" (short for Pay It Forward), and whoever becomes the recipient of the donated part must then, in return, donate two spare parts back to the community.

Any other views are welcome...
