1 10" vs. 2 10's
I had two MTX 6000 10's in my trunk ,unported box, runing off of MTX X series 300D (bought at circut city waste of money) 340watts RMS @ 2 ohms. I'm looking at some new speakers and an amp, cause the inbox wiring was funky and I think it fried my amp; basically standard speaker wire (high guage) in the box. I'm trying to decide to run one 10" runing off of 400RMS would be cleaner, and more efficant than my privious set up? Or should I stick with two 10's and run probably ???RMS to the both of them? I'm looking for slightely more kick out of my sub either way. I usually had my gain turned up all the way to get it where I wanted. Although I think I would prefer the sound to be clean over just loud...I still want to hear the music. If you're wondering the car's a '89 Accord 2 door.

Re: 1 10" vs. 2 10's
actually, it was, cuz if even if your run off 1 sub at 400 rms, your amp only puts out 340 right? you had the gain cranked, the amp couldn't power your 2 subs which probably needed about 250 rms each right?
so if you just get a better amp, you'll be able to power your 2 subs fine without wrecking your amp. |

Re: 1 10" vs. 2 10's
2 10's will be louder than 1 10 (no duh) ...... but if done right can sound better too.

Re: 1 10" vs. 2 10's
