New Mystery

I have a 2000 Rodeo 3.2 auto with 140k miles.

I started having problems recently where when I give it a lot of gas and take off fast, it will take off fast until I let off the gas, and then it runs like crap for a couple of minutes (acts like it wants to stall), and then it will start running normal.

I did a tune up, changed the spark plugs, air filter, and crap like that, but it still does it.

Any thoughts?

I just put it in the market for sale, and I need to fix it ASAP

Re: New Mystery

May want to consider a new fuel filter as well. Had a similar issue years ago that was remedied after changing the long forgotten fuel filter.

Re: New Mystery

Could also be the intake manifold gasket.

Re: New Mystery

The throttle body maybe carbon'ed up and needs to be sprayed out.

EGR and the EGR tube and PCV may need to be cleaned out.

I know that has to be bad because the truck always runs rough when I first start it up in the morning, then runs great when it warms up. But it has been like that for at least a year.

I have never had a problem with giving it a lot of gas, and it wanting to stall afterward.
